Drink Wine in an Igloo
The winters in northern Michigan can be beautiful and also can get pretty long. This year, in particular with indoor dining closed, many restaurants and wineries alike have had to think “outside the box” to help their business stay afloat during these very difficult times. Boyne Valley Vineyards did just that. They added six igloos and a beautiful tee-pee to their beautiful outdoor landscape which sets alongside the woods that circle the perimeter of their winery. For a set fee, you can reserve your “heated” igloo for 55 minutes, sipping wine and enjoying conversation. The igloos hold up to 6 persons and include chairs, a table and cozy blankets. As dusk sets in, they become “aglow” with white twinkling lights. Grab your favorite “pour”, head to your igloo and afterwards, take a stroll over and sit by their large wood fire pit, next to a roaring fire and breathe in the frosty northern Michigan air. When some of us just want to hibernate in the winter, it’s a welcoming experience to get out, and enjoy a little “life” to uplift you if the “winter blues” start setting in.
