Balloons Over Bay Harbor For a “Cause”
The Balloons Over Bay Harbor team is proud to present the 4th Annual Balloons Over Bay Harbor, taking to the skies September 22–24, 2023. This is the most uplifting event of the fall season in northern Michigan, with thousands of spectators that come to witness the balloon launches and night glows, as well as a 3K Color Run fundraiser, DJ street music and other family fun activities held throughout the weekend.
This year, we are once again looking forward to hosting 14 of the best pilots in the nation who compete in national festivals across the country and overseas. There will be flight activity throughout the weekend and the amazing “night glows” taking place on the marina lawn scheduled for both Friday and Saturday evenings in our Downtown Village.
Balloons Over Bay Harbor will be supporting a local non-profit, Kiersten’s Ride, which brings help, hope and healing through suicide awareness and prevention programs in Northern Lower Michigan by donating 25% back of our sponsorship dollars raised for the event.

We will also be hosting a 3K Color Run and Walk Fundraiser during the event on Saturday, September 23 at 10am with proceeds going back to the McLaren Northern Michigan Pediatric Patient Fund, to assist local families in need during a child’s health crisis. $20 to register including a Color Run Tee if signed up by September 10th. $25 registration day of the event.
