Sweet Summertime

There is nothing quite like summer in northern Michigan.  We have beautiful, temperate weather – fluffy clouds in a blue sky that hang over our sparkling lakes.  So many travel to our little corner of the world to enjoy family vacations, friend gatherings or couples getaways.  The sights and sounds of summer are also evident in Bay Harbor as people gather on our brick-paved streets of the Village to enjoy a delightful breakfast or brunch at Maple + Batter,  a lunch by the Marina at KNOT Just a Bar’s patio, a great grab n’ go option at Salvatore’s Grocery & Deli and a social dining experience at our newest waterfront restaurant NOMAD. 

SIP Wine Lounge is also a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the Village scene.  Mammoth Distilling offers live music 2 – 3 nights during the week and serves up hand-crafted cocktails that are always perfect and refreshing! Candy Harbor is your stop for hand-made ice cream, fudge, caramel corns, truffles to indulge your sweet tooth.

Sunset Beach has several wedding ceremonies along the bay on the weekends, and our Marina Lawns are a choice favorite for a tented reception. Amazing entertainment line-ups are featured at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts, where there is definitely something for everyone.

The boutique shops are fun and inviting, be sure to check out CH Boutique, Tulips, Rebeccas Fashions (and new shoes and accessories location!) and the newest store for the gentleman, Mens on Main.  Chatham House Lifestyle Gallery had their Grand Opening in June which included a beautiful, working kitchen for events, catering and more. Also a wonderful place for home goods and accessories, as well as interior design services.

Specialty Services are also busy in the summer including the stylists at Ilaria Hair Studio, patrons rejuvenating with a relaxing massage at Erika’s Massage and clients getting fit and toned at C Pilates Studio. 

The Marina expansion has brought in many new seasonal boaters, more than any year prior, and it also is keeping our boat dealers Lake Michigan Yacht Sales and Walstrom Marine very busy with sales!  The Little Traverse Bay Ferry runs throughout the day whisking patrons away to Petoskey and Harbor Springs and back again.
